Emergency Vehicles & Apparatus

Lund Fire District has two engines with pumping, drafting & hydrant capabilities. Two Tenders, one brush truck with UTV, and one rescue unit.

Engine 1

This is the first truck out the door when responding to a fire call. It’s a 2006 International diesel automatic carrying 1,600 gallons of water with a 1,250 gpm pump. Thanks to a FEMA grant, we were able to replace our 1985 GMC which had a gas engine and manual transmission.

Engine 2

A 2001 General brand fire truck that carriers of compliment of five as well as four SCBAs mounted in the seats. It carries 500 gallons of water and can pump 1,500 gallons per minute. It has a generator onboard and a complete set of jaws of life. The automatic deck gun on top of the truck can be run by hand-held remote. This was purchased from Fridley fire department as we need a bigger cab to carry more personnel to the fire scene.

Rescue Squad

This is a 1995 Freightliner rescue truck that carries a good share of our rescue equipment. It has a light tower mounted on top that has a remote to raise and lower at accident scenes at night. It has an onboard cascade system capable of filling air bottles for our SCBAs. The cab carries a compliment of five. This was purchased from the Egan fire department to replace a 1991 ambulance we bought from a neighboring EMS service department.

Tender 1

This is a 2010 Freightliner that has 2,000 gallon water tank and has a 500 gallon per minute pump. This has the capability to pump and roll which is a huge help when battling a grass fire. It has three large dump valves that can unload water in 90 seconds.

Tender 2

This is a 1995 GMC with automatic transmission. It carries 2,000 gallons of water with three dump valves: one on each side and one in the rear. It has a 300 gallon per minute pump mounted on the tail board run by an 18 hp gas engine. Works great in a grass fire. This truck replaced a 1985 International milk truck.

Brush Truck and UTV

Our brush truck is a 1989 Chevy with a manual transmission and four wheel drive. It has side compartments that carry tools for fire fighting grass and field fires. It has 300 gallons of water mounted in the back of the truck with 18hp gas engine with a pump. The truck was bought from Zumbro Falls Fire Department. It replaced a 1967 Army Jeep with a gas engine and tank of water.
