The Lund Fire Department gathered this month for our first-ever holiday party away from the fire hall, hosted at the Humble Moon Saloon. Firefighters, families, and friends came together to celebrate a year defined by dedication, growth, and community support. As we look back, we’re proud to share the milestones that shaped 2025.





🔥 Service & Response
- Record 56 calls for service, the most in department history!
- 2025 began with three major house fires in just two weeks!
- Achieved positive outcomes on all major incidents, thanks to the countless hours our members invest in training and the strong MABAS response.
- Completed three controlled burns for local neighbors
- No significant injuries throughout the year — a testament to training, teamwork, and safety
👨🚒 Team Growth & Achievements
- Welcomed David Frank to the department.
- Celebrated Afton Sterry, Matt Arens, and Ryden Carson, who completed Firefighter I and were voted in as full members
- Participated in four parades and the Wheel Rally
- Took 3rd place at the Kellogg Water Fights
- Conducted strong, well-rounded training sessions led by members across the department
🏅 Leadership & Transitions
- We said goodbye to Chief Bob Stein, whose dedication, experience, and leadership leave a lasting impact. His presence is deeply missed.
🚒 Equipment, Grants & Improvements
- Received all new turnout gear and a washer/extractor, made possible by our municipalities and donations from local community members.
- Secured a Compeer grant for a new gas monitor and Pi-Lits, thanks to David Stein’s initiative
- Continued improving readiness, safety, and operational capability across the department
💻 Community Engagement & Fundraising
- Launched the official Lund Fire District website, created to better connect with our community
- Formed a new 501(c)(3) fundraising committee, which has already shown early success and is preparing for our first major fundraiser in February.
