A Fun, Educational Day for the Whole Family!
The Lund Fire District is excited to invite the entire community to our Open House event Saturday, October 17th! Whether you’re a long-time resident or new to the area, this is the perfect opportunity to learn more about the essential work we do, meet your local first responders, and have a great time with family and friends.
We’re rolling out the red carpet for a fun-filled day, complete with free food, exciting live demonstrations, and a variety of activities for kids and adults alike. It’s an event you won’t want to miss!
What to Expect:
1. Free Food & Refreshments
Come hungry! We’ll have a delicious spread of free food and snacks for everyone. Whether you’re craving a pulled pork sandwhich, a refreshing drink, or a sweet treat, we’ve got you covered. Enjoy some downtime with your neighbors while you take in the sights and sounds of the day.
2. Tours of the Firehouse & Fire Trucks
Ever wondered what it’s like inside a fire station? Now’s your chance to find out! We’ll be offering guided tours of the Lund Fire District station. See where our firefighters gear up for duty, explore the impressive fire trucks and equipment, and get a glimpse into what it takes to keep our community safe.
3. Live Demonstrations
We’re bringing out the big guns for some thrilling live demonstrations. Watch as our dedicated firefighters perform a vehicle extraction demonstration, where you’ll see firsthand how they use specialized tools to rescue individuals trapped in a vehicle after an accident. It’s a powerful way to understand the skill and teamwork required during emergencies and how we keep everyone safe.
4. Fun Activities for Kids
We know the little ones are excited, too! We’ve got plenty of fun activities lined up to keep kids entertained. They’ll have the chance to try on firefighter gear and participate in water spraying simulations. We’ve got something for everyone, no matter how young or old.
